If you are looking for something different to do with friends or associates, consider booking an Escape Room. Escape Rooms have become popular across the country, especially for group events and celebrations, including birthdays. And Asheville has several to choose from. These are one- to two-hour problem-solving adventures usually for two to ten people. You and your team are locked in a room outfitted for a particular theme—a runaway train, a submarine under stress, a dark New York alley, a mystery mansion, etc. You and your teammates must work against the clock to overcome obstacles and follow clues to escape before certain doom.

FOX-N-OTTER Adventure Escape Rooms has three easy-to-find locations: The Asheville Mall, Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville, or Arden. They feature creative plot-driven escape rooms with immersive logic puzzles that truly engage the whole team. They have rooms that accommodate as few as two people or as many as ten team members, with options perfect for families and first-timers as well as for more advanced players and escape enthusiasts. Go to their website for more information or to book a room: https://escaperoomsasheville.com/.

Breakout Games–Asheville is located at 60 Patton Avenue in Asheville. Breakout says it is for those who would rather solve mysteries than watch someone else have all the fun. The facility has several rooms, each following unique storylines. You and your friends will have 60 minutes to escape your adventure of choice by cracking codes, solving puzzles, and following clues. Part problem-solving, part adrenaline, and end-to-end fun! For more information, go to https://breakoutgames.com/asheville.

A-Escape is located right off New Leicester Hwy at 12 Balance Lane in Asheville. It has been providing escape room adventures in Asheville since 2015 and the last time I checked, it had a five-star rating from seventy-plus reviews. Rooms must be booked in advance by calling 828-708-0613, and rooms have a six-person limit. And A-Escape never mixes groups. Your room will be exclusive to you and your group.
